The company
Northwind is a new company. That is a fact worth stating plainly, because it changes what you should expect: a small accountable team, documented work, and no borrowed credibility.

02Claims
A new company is under pressure to look established. Borrowed logos and invented numbers are the usual shortcut. They are also the fastest way to lose the first serious client.

No SOC 2, ISO, cloud-partner or reseller status is asserted. If a project needs one, that is a scoping conversation, not a badge.

No percentages are printed without a measurement behind them. Support commitments are written into an agreement, per client.

Stock people standing in for staff is the cheapest lie in web design. The site uses type, structure and diagrams instead.
03Voice
01
Say what the system does, in the words the person doing the task would use. If a sentence needs a diagram to be true, the diagram belongs beside it.
02
Separate what is known from what is assumed. Assumptions are labelled, dated and given an owner — not hidden in a confident paragraph.
03
Never use a number to make a point unless the number was measured. “Faster” without a baseline is decoration.
04
When something is not ready, write that it is not ready. A visitor who is told the truth about a gap is more likely to write than one who is told everything is possible.
Next step
Send the task, the systems it touches and the deadline you are working to. The first reply is a set of questions, not a quote.
